The Cosmic Motors Detonator is a straight-line dragster for non-human droids of Galaxion planet Tarra I. The design of the plasma combustion bike was tailored to specific race regulations and the unusual bodies of their mechanical riders, although occasionally human models were posing with stationary bikes. All ten Detonators were manufactured for a group of drag race passionate droids. The dragster class that the Detonator bike races in is considerably slower than certain streamline classes, but considered the most fun and most spectacular due to fire spitting exhausts and unbearable noise.
Straight line performance within the specific rules of Tarra I drag racing is enhanced by a long wheelbase, a low center of gravity, a sensitive electromagnetic steering with unusual race geometry, and glass-housed sensors behind slim front wheel. High pressure exhaust gases are used in the hope to improve acceleration through a glitch in the regulations. Expanding rear tires are not allowed in this class, so the bike is designed tightly around the rear wheel to keep the machine compact. The proximity of the seat to the wheel does not effect the Beryllium-made droid body structure, and was only argued by the racer of yellow No.8. After losing control of his machine on a practice run – and unaware of the unfortunate tire marks on his back panels – racer 8 caused some amusing press footage.
